The Spanish Government Delegation and the Generalitat held an information session in Lleida today to coordinate the upcoming extraordinary regularization process for migrants, set to begin in April.

Around eighty representatives from local councils, unions, and social entities attended the meeting. Government Sub-delegate José Crespín explained that the goal is to ensure an efficient process that will benefit Lleida's economy, particularly the agri-food sector, by bringing workers into the legal system.

"It is important for the local economy and for achieving the rights of these individuals."

The Delegate of the Generalitat in Lleida, Núria Gil, emphasized the regional government's commitment to a rights-based approach. Officials advised potential applicants to start gathering necessary documents, such as criminal record checks and passport renewals, to speed up their future employment contracts.
The measure applies to foreign nationals residing in Spain before December 31, 2025. Successful applicants will receive a one-year residency and work permit, valid for any professional sector across the country.
