The Lleida local police and the Mossos d'Esquadra are set to intensify their presence in the city's Historic Center with increased patrols during mornings and afternoons to boost public safety.

The decision was finalized this Wednesday during a meeting of police commanders. The strategy involves doubling security checks in the old town, an area that has seen the highest number of police interventions over the past year according to the Paeria (City Council).
Reinforcements will focus on crowded areas and locations with frequent incidents, specifically around Veguer de Carcassona street and Josep Solans square, where surveillance will be most prominent.
This move follows reports of twelve repeat juvenile offenders identified in the city. Authorities emphasize that these are not isolated cases but part of a broader social challenge requiring sustained police and social intervention.
