Social and economic agents from Lleida presented an ambitious bioeconomy and innovation plan this Tuesday in Barcelona, involving a 200 million euro investment.

The initiative, titled L'Horitzó Lleida 2050 i una Catalunya sostenible, was promoted by the Fundació Horitzons 2050 and the Diputació de Lleida. The projects cover forestry management, energy transition, and industrial innovation, with an estimated economic impact of 314 million euros and the creation of 2,395 jobs.

"Lleida's shared agenda is exemplary and should be extended to the rest of the Catalan territory."

Miquel Sàmper · Minister of Business and Labour
Key proposals include three specialized economic activity areas, a biotechnology experimentation environment, and an industry 4.0 testing space at Parc Agrobiotech. The plan also features a green economy training center and a talent attraction office.
