The Lleida City Council officially reactivated the Low Emission Zone (ZBE) this Tuesday, ending a temporary suspension that began on January 22 due to the Rodalies rail service crisis.

Local authorities stated that since the exceptional circumstances have passed, traffic limitations are once again in effect to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions. The ZBE operates on weekdays from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Vehicles registered in Lleida that pay local road tax are exempt from these restrictions.
In this initial phase, the restricted area is focused on the Barri Antic (Old Town). Access is permitted for vehicles with 0, ECO, C, or B environmental labels. For gasoline cars, the limit applies to those registered before 2001, while for diesel vehicles, the cutoff is 2006.
The city's master plan includes a significant expansion by 2028, reaching Passeig de Ronda. By 2030, the Cappont neighborhood will also be included, effectively covering most of the urban center of the Segrià capital.
