The Lleida City Council has launched an urban furniture renovation plan this March, involving the replacement of 90 benches and 150 bins across the capital of the Segrià region.

Improvement works began at Escorxador Square and Lluís Companys Street, where 35 benches are being replaced. The project will expand to Corregidor Escofet avenue, Francesc Macià, and the Voravia blocks to ensure better facilities for residents.

"This means that when someone sits down, they will be able to get up more easily because they have handrails and are taller."

Fèlix Larrosa · Mayor of Lleida
Beyond the seating, the council has updated sand in playgrounds at La Magrana and Joan Vilagrasa squares. New ping-pong tables will also be installed in Llívia and Parc de les Vies.
