The Good Governance Commission of the Lleida City Council has given the green light to a budget credit modification totaling 2,181,000 euros. These funds will be allocated to various key projects in the city, aiming to enhance citizens' quality of life.
One of the most significant investments is the installation of a shade system on the Liceu Escolar walkway, with a budget of 50,000 euros. This measure seeks to make the route more comfortable during months of intense heat, responding to the increasing frequency of high-temperature episodes in the context of the climate crisis.
The Camp d'Esports will also benefit from a substantial investment of 325,000 euros. These funds will be distributed among building maintenance (100,000 euros), the pitch and training track turf (125,000 euros), and actions related to the legionella detected in July, which has since been resolved by replacing water tanks and internal piping infrastructure (100,000 euros).
Additionally, 310,000 euros have been allocated for the new public space maintenance brigade of the Municipal Employment Institute (IMO). Another 77,000 euros are designated for the maintenance, clearing, and signage of the paths in L'Horta de Lleida, improving their functionality after recent rain damage.
The credit modification also includes improvements to other municipal sports facilities, such as repairs to the Gardeny BTT track, actions on the Basses athletics track, repairs to the stands of the CF Pardinyes, aid for AEM and UE Balàfia, and the installation of games for the elderly in Llívia.
