The Consumer Price Index (CPI) in Lleida fell to 1.6% in January, marking the most significant decrease among all Catalan provinces according to official data.

Data from the National Statistics Institute (INE) shows that inflation in the Lleida region dropped by more than one percentage point this month. This is the lowest level recorded in the area since September 2024.
The decline was largely driven by clothing and footwear prices, which plummeted 12.9% compared to December due to winter sales. Conversely, financial services and insurance saw a 5.2% increase, while food prices rose by 2.6% overall.
Catalonia as a whole recorded a 2% inflation rate, remaining below the Spanish national average of 2.3%. Madrid led the national price increases at 3%.
