A man was arrested this Friday in Torrebesses (Segrià) for assaulting the mayor, Mario Urrea, after the latter informed him of the termination of the social center bar's concession contract.

The events occurred around 10:30 AM, when the mayor communicated the decision to terminate the contract. According to information published by the newspaper Segre and confirmed by ACN, the person in charge of the premises refused to sign the notification.
In this context, the arrested man threatened and struck the mayor, causing minor injuries. The Mossos d'Esquadra intervened and proceeded with the individual's arrest.
The arrest was made on charges of assault on authority, threats, and injuries, in connection with the incident that arose from the contractual dispute over the social center bar in Torrebesses.
