The Memory Bank has expanded its documentary collection with nearly 70,000 new records on Francoist repression in Catalonia, including details on the 445 executions in the Lleida demarcation.

This platform, considered the main archive on repression during the Civil War and the Francoist dictatorship, has incorporated additional information on the passage of Catalan citizens through Francoist courts between 1938 and 1978. Among the new data, 316 death sentences imposed on individuals originally from or residing in Lleida are detailed, in addition to 63 on displaced persons and 66 on newcomers.
One of the most notable cases is that of Ricard Serra Angarill, a resident of Fondarella and native of Sidamon. Serra was the only citizen born and established in a municipality of the Lleida demarcation who was executed by a military tribunal without having gone through the traditional court-martial format. According to Memory Bank records, he was subject to preliminary proceedings and a "previous procedure" in 1942, the year in which the death penalty was imposed and executed.

Franco's military tribunals ordered the killing of 445 people from Lleida between 1938 and 1942.

The documents reveal that a total of 9,655 citizens born in the Lleida demarcation were prosecuted by military tribunals, although 1,823 of them were indicted in other provinces. The Memory Bank also quantifies the number of residents in Lleida who were indicted at 10,092, of whom 2,260 came from other demarcations. In the capital, Lleida, 1,207 citizens were indicted, with 356 born in the city and 851 from other locations.
