Sick leaves related to mental health issues have surged by 74% in Lleida over recent years, with an average duration of 63 days per case.

The president of Pimec Lleida, Borja Solans, highlighted that labor absenteeism is a major concern for local businesses. Despite the rise in psychiatric cases, musculoskeletal disorders remain the leading cause of sick leave, accounting for 26% of all registered processes.

The economic impact is significant, costing companies an average of 2,500 euros per worker annually. With 165,080 social security affiliates in the province, the total cost reaches 415 million euros per year.
