Nil Albert wins the 35th Àngel Moncusí Young Chefs Competition

The chef from L'Espurna restaurant took the top prize in Lleida with a creative pork rib dish.

Young chef Nil Albert, from the L'Espurna restaurant in Lleida, has won the 35th Àngel Moncusí Young Chefs Competition held this March 6th in the Segrià region.

The competition featured 13 participants from local culinary schools and restaurants. Albert impressed the judges with his main course Records de la costella de la padrina reinterpretada and a dessert titled Poma de Ponent, highlighting regional flavors.
Sergi López from Cal Xirricló secured second place, and Mimoun Rahmouni from ESCHOTUR was recognized for the best kitchen work. The event aims to promote young talent and local gastronomy, focusing this year on the regional pork industry.
