A total of 888 prior criminal records are held by the 125 individuals identified on Wednesday as part of the Kanpai operation targeting repeat offending. The operation, conducted on Lleida's Eix Comercial, was carried out by the Mossos d’Esquadra, in collaboration with the Guàrdia Urbana and the Policia Nacional. The police action concluded with three arrests: two by the Mossos and one by the National Police.
The Mossos d’Esquadra arrested a man accused of theft from a vehicle, who had accumulated 22 prior records. The second arrest by the regional police involved an individual accused of robbery with violence, with two previous records. The Policia Nacional, meanwhile, arrested one person on immigration matters and summoned six others for the same reason. Additionally, a minor theft report was filed, and seven administrative citations were issued: four for possession of drugs and three for carrying bladed weapons.
Approximately forty officers, both in uniform and plainclothes, participated in the operation, which is the second of its kind in the capital of Segrià this year. These interventions typically focus on areas with a high incidence of petty theft and violent robberies.
These types of interventions are usually carried out in areas where more thefts and violent robberies are detected.
The previous Kanpai operation in the city, held in late March in the Centre Històric, resulted in one arrest for public health offenses, about fifty identifications, two citations for bladed weapons, and one for street vending, along with three immigration summons from the National Police. Concurrently, the Kanpai Pista operation monitored routes such as the AP7, C32, C25, A2, and AP2. In mid-May, another large-scale operation in La Seu d’Urgell identified 222 individuals with 161 prior records.
