The writer Pere Pena will present his first novel, titled Sota la pell, un arbre, next Friday, March 1st, during a literary event at the Morera Museum in Lleida.

The book, published by Eclecta Edicions, marks the author's narrative debut at the age of 64. The event, organized by La Fatal bookstore, will feature writers Teresa Ibars and Anna Sàez, director of SEGRE. The story originated from a short tale written years ago about a youthful relationship.

"This story is not real, but it is the truth, my truth full of shadows, which I want to share with the reader."

Pere Pena · Writer
The plot is inspired by real events involving Pena's family in Seròs and the disappearance of teacher Candelària Ametlla in February 1938. Using archives from Salamanca, the author explores the Spanish Civil War and the Transition period in the Baix Segrià region.
