The Lleida City Council preventively evacuated the second floor of a building on Carrer Boters on Wednesday, after part of a wall from the adjacent block being demolished collapsed.

The measure affects building number 25 on Boters Street, located in the Historic Center of Lleida. The incident occurred around noon on Wednesday, when a section of the wall of the adjacent property (numbers 21 and 23), which was undergoing demolition, fell. The Paeria (City Council) attributed the initial collapse to the rain.
Initial municipal inspections confirmed that residents on the lower floors are not in danger. However, three people residing in two apartments on the second floor will not be able to return home until technicians complete a full structural review of the property.
Social Services offered emergency accommodation to the three affected individuals, but none of them required assistance. At the time of the partial wall collapse, only one person was inside the adjacent building being demolished.
The First Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Urban Agenda, Begoña Iglesias, traveled to the site to assess the situation and guarantee municipal support for those affected. The Urban Guard has kept the street closed preventively for safety reasons.
