MP Pepe Vidal has formally questioned the Catalan Government regarding the suspension of the Pere Quart Bibliobús, which has been out of service in eighteen Pyrenees villages since January 7th.

The mobile library, managed by the Lleida Library Center, stopped its physical visits after the retirement of the driver and library technician. The vacancy has not yet been filled, leaving several rural communities without their primary access to public reading services.

"We must guarantee access to reading for all inhabitants of the Pyrenees, ensuring they have the same cultural opportunities as a citizen of Barcelona."

Vidal criticized the Department of Culture for the lack of planning, noting that since the retirement was known in advance, the service interruption should have been avoided. The Generalitat is now facing pressure to provide a specific date for the resumption of the library routes.
