The Guàrdia Urbana of Lleida recorded 1,196 reports for possession of bladed weapons and narcotics between January and April 2026, a figure representing a 140.64% increase compared to the same period last year.

According to data presented to the city council's Security commission, this police activity translates to an average of 10 seizures per day, compared to the 4.1 recorded during the first four months of 2025. The majority of the confiscated weapons were bladed weapons.

"It is not that there has been an increase in the presence of drugs or weapons, but that interventions and inspections have been increased in collaboration with the Mossos d'Esquadra."
