Located in the Noguera region, this small village of fewer than 200 inhabitants stands out for its picturesque location on the banks of the reservoir of the same name. The mountainous surroundings and abundant vegetation make it an ideal setting for various outdoor activities, such as kayaking, hiking and cycling routes, or simply enjoying a quiet stroll along its shores.

For climbing enthusiasts, the rocky walls of Sant Llorenç de Montgai offer routes adapted to all levels, from beginners to experts, in a relaxed and uncrowded environment. Furthermore, the area is a point of interest for ornithologists, who can spot emblematic species such as the osprey or the kingfisher.

Another prominent attraction is its 9th-century medieval castle, which crowns a hill and provides an impressive panoramic view of the reservoir and its surroundings. Although in ruins, its location is ideal for walks and photography, especially during sunset. Nearby, one can also find ruins of an Iberian village and the hermitages of Sant Jordi, Sant Llorenç, and Montalegre, which crown the Mont Roig mountain range.

Local gastronomy is another of its charms, with the renowned 'coques de recapte' as the star dish. These savory flatbreads, made with a thin bread dough covered with roasted vegetables and often combined with 'botifarra' or sardines, are a delight that can be tasted in the village's bars and restaurants. It is almost mandatory to stop in Camarasa, the municipality to which Sant Llorenç de Montgai belongs, to try the 'coques de recapte' from the Capdevila bakery.
