The privately owned facility has 40 places distributed in two fully equipped modules. This initiative aims to support seasonal workers, offering them a free place to stay.
The main novelty this year is the extension of the operational period until the end of September. Last year, the facility operated during the months of May and September, complementing the coverage provided by the Paeria de Lleida at pavilion 3 of Fira de Lleida between June and August.
“"The good performance of the facility in its first year has been key to extending its period of activity."
Users assigned to the hostel by the Paeria office will be transported via a passenger transport service. The Consell Comarcal will manage both transport and accommodation, with funding from the Generalitat through the homelessness provision in the current program contract. The Diputació de Lleida will also contribute financially to the operation.
To ensure the care and support of users, three campaign facilitators, hired through the SOC (an educator, an integrator, and a social worker), will provide support tasks during the stay, which will have a maximum duration of 10 days. Last year, the hostel recorded 189 overnight stays from 36 users.
