The city of Lleida and the surrounding region are bracing for a sudden weather change this March, as sunny skies give way to a period of instability and high winds.

Following a calm Tuesday with morning fog and temperatures reaching 20ºC, the weather is set to deteriorate. Both Meteocat and Aemet have issued yellow and orange alerts due to an approaching cold air mass that will displace the current high-pressure system.
By Wednesday afternoon, clouds will increase across the territory. While maximum temperatures might still hit 25ºC in parts of Lleida and Tarragona, snow levels in the Pyrenees are expected to drop to 800 meters by the evening.
Thursday is predicted to be the most unstable day, featuring a notable temperature drop and widespread showers. Strong northwestern winds will affect the Empordà region and southern Catalonia, with snow potentially falling as low as 600 meters in the mountains.
