Lleida's Ricard Vinyes square transformed into a large open-air gastronomic space on Friday for the third edition of Tasta Lleida. This initiative, driven by the regulatory councils of various protected designations of origin and geographical indications, aims to showcase the excellence of certified agri-food products from the lands of Lleida, the Pyrenees, and Aran.
The event, held between 7:00 PM and 9:30 PM as part of the Nit Oberta de la Zona Alta program, brought together producers, institutions, agri-food sector representatives, and citizens. It was a unique gastronomic experience that champions the value of origin, quality, and territory.
At this edition, attendees tasted a culinary proposal designed by chef Salvador Trabalón from the restaurant Saroa. The exclusive menu featured certified products from participating brands, including a royal of cheese from DOP Alt Urgell i la Cerdanya with DOP Pera de Lleida pear and truffle; a zucchini and cherry cake from Producció Integrada with anchovy and DOP Les Garrigues extra virgin olive oil; and a mousse of IGP Torró d'Agramunt nougat coated in dark chocolate. The dishes were paired with wines from the DOP Costers del Segre.
Representatives from the various designations of origin emphasized the importance of bringing certified products closer to the end consumer through experiences that explain their origin and differentiated quality.
Tasta Lleida is much more than a tasting. It's a way of explaining who we are, where we come from, and the work that hundreds of producers and processors do to keep a unique agri-food heritage alive.
Following the success of previous editions in Lleida and the experience in Barcelona, Tasta Lleida is consolidating itself as a benchmark initiative for promoting foods with certified quality seals, reinforcing Lleida's position as a key agri-food territory.
The event featured a carefully curated staging and a festive atmosphere, once again turning Ricard Vinyes square into a meeting point for producers, institutions, and citizens, marking one of the highlights of the Nit Oberta de la Zona Alta.
This initiative is jointly promoted by the regulatory councils of the main agri-food quality brands in the region, aiming to increase visibility for certified products and strengthen the link between production, gastronomy, and the consumer.
