Groups of teachers have blocked the A-2 highway near Alcarràs and the C-55 road in Clariana de Cardener this Wednesday, March 18, as part of an ongoing education strike.

The third day of decentralized strikes in the education sector began with significant disruptions on the road network of Lleida and Central Catalonia. On the A-2 highway, traffic was diverted through Soses towards Lleida and through Alpicat towards Zaragoza.
In the Segrià region, protesters gathered at Lleida's high school district before moving to Alcarràs. There, they were joined by farmers to successfully block the main highway.
Beyond the road blockades, a demonstration is scheduled for 12:30 PM at Ricard Viñes Square in Lleida, with another protest planned in la Seu d'Urgell. The movement also impacts the Alt Pirineu and Aran regions.
