A 59-year-old driver suffered an accident yesterday in Lleida's Cappont neighborhood, losing control of his delivery van and colliding with three vehicles before impacting the facade of a building.

The incident occurred at 11:25 AM on Riu Ebre street, heading towards Avinguda València. The vehicle, a delivery van, initially collided with two cars and a truck, two of which were parked in front of a mechanical workshop. Subsequently, it mounted the sidewalk and crashed into the facade of a building located at the corner of Riu Ebre and Avinguda València, at number 32.
The driver was transferred to Arnau de Vilanova University Hospital for evaluation of his condition. The Guàrdia Urbana of Lleida has launched an investigation to determine the exact causes of the accident.

It was a big scare and a miracle that no one ended up being run over.

Eyewitnesses reported that the driver, after dropping off a package at a nearby pharmacy, may have suffered a sudden indisposition upon re-entering the van, continuing to drive without lifting his foot from the accelerator. After the impact, the man stated he did not remember anything that had happened. Several patrols from the Guàrdia Urbana, SEM ambulances, and Firefighters were dispatched to the scene.
This event is reminiscent of a similar incident that occurred in May of last year, when a car crashed into the display window of a flower shop on Bisbe Torres street, between Avinguda Catalunya and Governador Montcada, with no injuries reported.
