The supermarket chain Mercadona acquired 10.2 million kilograms of pears from the Lleida regions during 2025, emphasizing collaboration with local suppliers.

This purchase volume includes several pear varieties, such as Conference, which remains available on Mercadona shelves throughout the year. It also includes the Ercolina and Limonera varieties, whose campaign started last summer and will run, approximately, until the end of this January.
The company markets pears grown in the fields of the Lleida regions through agreements with specialist suppliers such as Nufresco (based in Mollerussa), Catafruit (La Portella), Apetit Fruits (Bellpuig), Novacoop Mediterranea (formed by Fruits de Ponent and ActelGrup) and Greenfarmers (Albatàrrec).

"This volume of purchases was possible thanks to the quality of the product and the good acceptance it has had from customers."

Specifically for figs, the company purchased 800,000 kilograms of black figs from Figs Fruits (Alguaire) and La Coma Fruits (Soses) for the 2025 campaign. Currently, 85% of the company's total assortment originates from Spain.
