A total of 2,502 families in Lleida benefited from some form of water bill subsidy during 2025, according to the report presented by the concessionaire company Aquàlia to the Paeria.

The figure of 2,502 families receiving some type of water bill subsidy in Lleida during 2025 represents a slight increase compared to the previous year, when 2,363 beneficiaries were registered. This data was made public after the service concessionaire, Aquàlia, presented its annual report to the service monitoring and control commission.
Of the total beneficiaries, 823 families were covered by the municipal social tariff, offered by the Agència Catalana de l’Aigua (ACA), which provides a 25% reduction in the domestic consumption tariff. This measure is primarily aimed at the elderly and families where all members are unemployed. Additionally, 1,616 families benefited from the municipal subsidized tariff, designed for large families, which involves expanding the water canon brackets to allow for higher consumption without penalty.

The Energy Poverty Law 24/2015 was crucial for 748 vulnerable families in Lleida, guaranteeing their supply and preventing cuts during 2025, a figure that increased by 22 cases compared to the previous year.

The Aquàlia report also highlighted the increase in the number of subscribers, which grew by 500 in one year to reach 83,567. Regarding consumption, the average per user per day rose by 10 liters, reaching 270 liters daily, although domestic consumption remained stable at 123 liters per inhabitant per day. Another positive point is the improvement in the municipal network's performance, which increased from 84% to a record 87%, attributed to infrastructure improvement works. Finally, the number of meters with remote reading soared, increasing from 66% to 85% of the total (38,616 units).
