The Balàfia Neighborhood Association has postponed its General Ordinary Assembly, scheduled for January 10, 2026, in Lleida, due to the Paeria's lack of detailed information regarding the uses of the Civic Hub Project.

The decision, announced on January 6, 2026, is based on the need for detailed documentation regarding the intended use of the spaces in the former Escola Balàfia, a key point scheduled for discussion. The neighborhood association deems this information essential for a thorough analysis and debate among its members.
The organization has repeatedly requested greater specificity from the Lleida City Council, known locally as the Paeria, concerning the planned uses for the three buildings and the courtyard of the former educational center. This request is part of a broader demand for transparency and citizen participation.

Balàfia urges the Paeria to extend complete information about the uses of the former School to all entities, associations, and groups operating in the neighborhood.

This call for transparency specifically includes the entities that participated in the drafting commission for the report “Propuestas sobre los Usos de la Antigua Escuela de Balàfia,” a document approved by the Neighborhood Council in 2022. The goal is to ensure all residents can form an informed opinion and actively participate in the process.
