The group consists of Joan Bergadà from Lleida (former member of Bredda and originally from Rocallaura, in Urgell) and the Tarragona brothers Eduard and Joan Vilalta, from L’Espluga de Francolí. This first track, which blends organic and electronic sounds, was recorded in a studio in Alcoletge under the label Propaganda pel Fet.
The song acts as a presentation card for the project, which will culminate in the album Plorant roselles, cantant desastres, consisting of ten original rap tracks entirely in Catalan. The music video for Nascut entre Lleida i Tarragona, directed by Samisergi, premiered this afternoon and was filmed in L’Espluga de Francolí.
“"We need to say things and do it in Catalan, highlighting the power of the language as a tool for protest in times when things are very difficult."
Llengua Morta was founded with the goal of combining "linguistic commitment, territorial identity, and sound exploration within Catalan rap," as explained by Bergadà. The trio is already preparing a presentation tour across Catalonia for the coming months.
