The railway sector strike caused chaos at the Lleida-Pirineus station this Monday morning, resulting in the cancellation of essential minimum services, including the first Avant train to Barcelona.

The protest day began with the cancellation of the first Avant service between Lleida and Barcelona, scheduled for 7:05 a.m., despite being listed as a minimum service. This situation, caused by the driver's absence, forced many travelers to find last-minute transport alternatives.

"This train was listed as a minimum service, but they told us the driver didn't show up and the train is not leaving, so we will go by car."

The problems also affected the Rodalies (Commuter) and Regional lines, especially lines RL3 and RL4. In these instances, several trains could not run because the drivers were unable to complete the minimum rest time established by labor regulations.
The Lleida-Pirineus station became the focal point of user complaints, as their travel plans were disrupted by the failure to comply with the essential services decreed for the strike day on February 9, 2026.
