The preliminary collective agreement, reached on Thursday, December 18, ends six months of “intense” negotiations that included three mobilizations and two strike days. The goal of the pact is to ensure “labor improvements and greater stability” for sector professionals.
The agreement will be valid for four years and establishes annual salary increases of 4.5% until 2028. One of the historical improvements is the recognition of Sunday work, which previously lacked specific remuneration. Starting in 2026, workers will receive an economic supplement for this weekly shift.
Furthermore, the consensus document recognizes the unique nature of the Val d’Aran, marked by its high level of tourism and cost of living. Therefore, a geographical supplement has been included for residents and workers in the Aran area with increasing amounts: 40 euros in 2026, 60 euros in 2027, and 80 euros in 2028.
“"We regret that a higher increase was not achieved, since in Lleida we have a significant salary delay compared to other provinces of Catalonia, with a significant wage gap in relation to the rest of the colleagues in the sector."
The union accepts that this pact is “a first step to reduce this salary difference,” and emphasizes the need to continue working to close the territorial gap and move towards real salary equalization in the next agreement.
