The Templar Day, organized by the Associació Cultural Castell de Gardeny, offered an extensive program of activities that captivated attendees. These included a parade to the castle, photographic and artistic exhibitions, reenactments of medieval battles and scenes, and a live drawing demonstration by Urban Sketchers Lleida. The site was filled with period ambiance, featuring areas dedicated to learning more about the military orders that shaped the enclave's history.

The day culminated with a nocturnal music and dance show, bringing the Diada to a close, marked by high participation and interest in the city's Templar past. This initiative underscores the importance of preserving and disseminating Gardeny's rich historical legacy.

Gardeny Castle, one of Catalonia's main Templar vestiges, was erected in the 12th century after the Christian conquest of Lleida in 1149. It was ceded to the Order of the Temple, which established an important commandery there. Its strategic position made it a key center of military and religious power in the Crown of Aragon. After the dissolution of the Templars in the 14th century, the castle passed into the hands of the Order of the Hospital and evolved into a military fortification.

Currently, the castle has been restored and is open to the public, remaining a symbol of the city's medieval past. Initiatives like the Templar Day demonstrate that Gardeny's history remains alive, bringing the Templar legacy closer to the public through active participation.
