The opposition group Junts-Impulsem announced it will vote in favor of the Lleida Provincial Council budget for 2026 during the plenary session scheduled for this Thursday.

The decision was confirmed by Jaume Ars, Head of the Opposition and mayor of Guissona, who stated that the governing coalition (composed of ERC, PSC, UA, and Pacte Local) accepted several key contributions from the pos-convergent group, which holds 10 deputies.
Among the 16 proposals included in the budget are provisions to complement Generalitat aid for the removal of asbestos roofs, improvements to sports facilities, and addressing municipal water needs.

"Out of responsibility, we are committed to improving the efficiency of its implementation. We must ensure that 100% of the budget is executed."

Ars also highlighted the inclusion of funding to enhance technical assistance services for local councils and support for health inspections in food and beverage establishments, a service previously discontinued by the Generalitat since the pandemic. Ars emphasized the importance of dialogue despite the historically low execution rate of the provincial body's accounts.
