The Lleida City Council presented the free DragAlert application on December 18, 2025, to reinforce security in local shops and improve the response capacity of the Guàrdia Urbana during serious risk situations.

DragAlert is an application designed for Android devices that functions as a virtual emergency button. When pressed, the system immediately alerts the central command of the Guàrdia Urbana or the nearest patrol, automatically transmitting the fixed location of the establishment.
This tool is intended exclusively for use in serious risk circumstances, including robberies with violence or intimidation, assaults, fights, or any situation endangering people. The service is aimed at fixed-location businesses not legally required to have specific security systems.

"DragAlert does not replace other alarm systems, but complements them, facilitating a more direct, faster, and more efficient warning to the local police. This new tool joins the actions promoted to reinforce citizen security and support local commerce, which is key to the economic and social life of Lleida."

Registration for the service is free and can be activated for each employee, associating one mobile device per business. Interested parties must download the application via the Play Store and request registration through the corresponding procedure available on the municipal website of the Paeria. The Guàrdia Urbana is responsible for validating and linking the service, checking phone coverage beforehand.
