The Generalitat de Catalunya has presented the events that will take place throughout the Catalan territory on the occasion of Sant Jordi. This year's campaign is distinguished by the slogan "Sant Jordi makes us better," accompanied by an illustration of a "book-devouring" dragon emitting "flames of love," presenting this traditional figure in a non-threatening way and linked to literature and roses.
In Lleida, the Biblioteca Pública de Lleida will host the event "Joana: beyond the myth" on the afternoon of April 22. This proposal consists of a theatrical dramatization based on the work of Guillem Viladot, a renowned poet and writer from Lleida. The show, performed by the company 4 contes, offers a renewed perspective on the figure of Joanna of Castile, moving away from the conventional historical view.
Meanwhile, in Alt Pirineu i l'Aran, the Biblioteca Pública de Sort will be the setting for an event on the afternoon of April 21. This Sant Jordi celebration will include a public reading of texts by Pyrenean authors, directed by the delegate of the Government in Aran and Alt Pirineu.
