The Lleida Chamber of Commerce has warned that olive oil is the most vulnerable local product following Donald Trump's threats to halt trade with Spain.

Last year, companies from Lleida exported goods worth 78.29 million euros to the United States. Olive oil accounted for 42.94 million euros, representing more than half of the total exports to the American market.

"We reiterate the recommendations to strengthen market diversification and maintain close monitoring of events."

The Chamber suggests that Trump's statements may be a political maneuver regarding military bases. While no formal tariffs have been implemented yet, the resulting uncertainty could slow down international purchasing decisions.
