The Association of Beekeepers of Catalonia and the Generalitat presented the MAAC brand this Monday in Lleida to identify and promote honey produced within the region.

The MAAC (Mel d'Apicultores i Apicultors de Catalunya) seal will serve as a distinctive mark for consumers to recognize honey with verifiable origin and freshness. This ensures that the honey purchased is high-quality and recently harvested.
Five local brands in the Lleida province have already adopted the seal, including Eth Brinhon from Garòs and NaturApícola from Camarasa, among others from Pavia, Lleida, and Térmens.

"Honey is a gastronomic treasure that has been harvested for centuries and has contributed to the development of Catalonia's rural territories."
