Tourism in Alt Pirineu and Ponent consolidates growth in 2025 with record figures

The province of Lleida exceeded 1.38 million visitors and recorded the best historical data for international tourists.

Provisional data from the National Institute of Statistics (INE) confirms that the tourism sector in Alt Pirineu i Aran and Ponent closed 2025 with sustained growth, surpassing 1.38 million visitors and 3.3 million overnight stays.

The Lleida region received a total of 1,383,791 visitors during 2025, an increase of 2.8% compared to the previous year. These tourists generated 3,357,193 overnight stays, representing a 2.43% increase compared to 2024. The Vice President of the Lleida Provincial Council Tourism Board, Juan Antonio Serrano, highlighted that, with 254,564 foreign visitors, the best figure for international tourists recorded to date has been achieved.

By sector, hotels concentrated the highest activity, with 996,322 tourists and 2,197,810 overnight stays. Campsites registered 244,818 visitors and 750,887 nights, while rural tourism houses hosted 84,901 people and 228,982 overnight stays. The General Secretary of the Lleida Hospitality Federation, Ramon Solsona, emphasized the need to attract more international visitors to increase occupancy and spending, thereby achieving deseasonalization.

Looking ahead to 2026, the Board's objective is to revalidate this growth, focusing on responsible tourism aligned with the values of sustainability and quality that define the Pyrenees and Ponent. Serrano noted that there is still room for growth during the spring and autumn seasons, reinforcing promotion abroad.
