The event, held at the Museu de Lleida, brought together researchers, archaeologists, institutions, and individuals connected to López's figure, aiming to vindicate his scientific, teaching, and human trajectory. López was a key figure in the development of prehistoric and protohistoric archaeology in the Terres de Ponent region and left a significant mark on those who collaborated with him.
The volume, a collective work, features 29 scientific contributions from over ninety researchers from Catalan, Spanish, and French institutions, as well as 15 personal testimonies. The scientific contributions are structured into five thematic blocks: Settlement, urbanism, and social organization; Technology and production; Funerary and symbolic practices; Experimentation; and Heritage dissemination and protection.
These areas reflect a conception of archaeology based on interdisciplinarity, methodological innovation, and commitment to the territory. López's career is associated with significant archaeological sites such as Minferri (Juneda), the fortress of Vilars (Arbeca), Reguers de Seró, Montanissell cave, Colomina, and the oppidum of Gebut (Soses).
The book also highlights López's commitment to connecting archaeology with society and local communities. The publication was edited by the Museu de Lleida and the Universitat de Lleida, with the collaboration of various regional institutions and town councils.
