Xènia Pérez, a 21-year-old vocalist and backing singer from Lleida, recently discussed her professional experience as part of the vocal ensemble for the tour of Spanish artist Amaia Romero across Spain.

Xènia Pérez, originally from Lleida, is a multifaceted musician who, at just 21 years old, has played the trumpet since age 5 and studied modern singing at El Liceu and the Taller de Músics in Barcelona. She currently combines her advanced training with directing rehearsals and participating in five different groups, such as Ponent Dixie.

"Working on this project for me is something surreal. It was an opportunity fallen from heaven, and I didn't hesitate to take it."

The opportunity to join Amaia Romero's team arose when the artist's staff contacted the Taller de Músics looking for a vocal ensemble. Pérez highlights the high demands of the project, which goes beyond singing, including aspects like wardrobe and choreography, emphasizing the importance of support among the sixteen choir members.
Among the most exciting moments of the tour, the vocalist recalls the performance in Pamplona, Amaia's hometown, on January 3, where they celebrated the artist's birthday. She also highlights the experience of singing in front of 17,000 people at the Wizink Center in Madrid, an event she considers “very powerful” and incredible.
In addition to her work with Amaia, Xènia Pérez maintains her personal project under the artistic name Xens. She has already released the album Full Circle (2024) and plans to release a Catalan single soon titled Punt i final, characterized by an organic acoustic pop style. She is scheduled to perform on February 17 at the Sala Byron in Barcelona.
