The municipality of Anglès was left without drinking water supply this Monday after a collapse on Pla de la Coma street broke the main pipeline, causing no personal injuries.

The incident was reported on Sunday at 1:44 PM, when the pavement on Pla de la Coma street collapsed into the bed of the Sant Amanç stream. This landslide caused the rupture of a vital pipe that feeds the municipal reservoir, interrupting service throughout the town.
The severity of the damage has prevented, for the moment, offering even minimum services. The Anglès Town Council is working jointly with the concessionary company, Aqualia, to replace the affected section and restore the supply as soon as possible.

"Work is ongoing without interruption to minimize the impact and ensure that essential services have access to water."

Jordi Pibernat · Mayor of Anglès
To guarantee basic supply, a tanker truck has been set up in the Burés car park so residents can fill up jerrycans. Furthermore, reservoirs are being refilled with untreated water to allow the use of cisterns in homes and essential facilities, such as the CAP (Primary Care Center), educational centers, and the day center.
Workers, supported by the Firefighters and the Local Police, continue working since early Monday morning to prepare the base for the new pipe. The roadway remains closed for safety while the operations are carried out, although the mayor warns that the service might be temporarily cut again to complete the final repairs.
