The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon, when residents reported the appearance of a large sinkhole in the pavement. The collapse was presumably caused by the rupture of a main water supply pipe, which eroded the subsoil beneath the road.

Images shared on social media showed water spurting out under pressure from the opening, flooding the surrounding area. Municipal services and technicians quickly arrived at the scene to shut off the supply and assess the structural damage.

These types of failures in the water network are usually complex to repair and require urgent works. It is expected that the Anglès Town Council will have to implement a rapid repair plan to restore normal traffic flow and guarantee service to affected residents.
