During the period from August 3rd to 10th, a special security and coexistence operation was carried out in the Mas Enlaire neighborhood of Blanes. This police action responds to concerns raised by residents regarding various anti-social behaviors detected in the area.
The operation, part of the Local Police's strategy to enhance community policing, follows a similar intervention conducted in the La Plantera neighborhood during July. The objective is to improve residents' quality of life through a more active police presence.
Two officers were assigned daily during the afternoons and evenings, supplemented by regular patrols when necessary. Surveillance focused on areas with the highest conflict levels, employing foot and motorcycle patrols, preventive checks, and individual identifications.
The operation resulted in the issuance of 27 fines or reports. The majority, 17, were for consuming alcohol in public spaces. Additionally, three fines were issued for refusing to identify oneself, and three reports were filed for possession of narcotic substances.
Other documented offenses include a fine for alleged possession of hashish, one for urinating in public, one for disobedience, and one for disturbing neighborhood peace, adding to the total number of actions taken.
The results of this operation were presented in September to the Association of Neighbors of Mas Enlaire. The meeting was attended by the mayor of Blanes, Jordi Hernández, the head of the Local Police, Javier Jarillo, the neighborhood councilor, Quique Pérez, and the neighborhood president, Miguel Gallego. The association positively assessed the police reinforcement and the perception of increased officer presence.
The Local Police of Blanes has confirmed that they will continue to monitor the situation in the neighborhood and will adjust future actions based on the evolution of incidents.
