The towns of Blanes and Sant Hilari, located in the Selva region, have launched the new season of the Cicle Gaudí during January 2026, actively promoting Catalan cinema.

The cultural agenda in Selva has recently highlighted the start of the eleventh season of the Cicle Gaudí, an initiative that brings Catalan and European cinema closer to local municipalities. In Blanes, the inauguration took place on January 14, 2026, with the screening of the film Una quinta portuguesa.
For its part, the municipality of Sant Hilari has also joined the cycle's programming. The premiere of Catalan cinema in the town was held shortly before, on January 10, 2026, confirming the region's commitment to offering a stable and high-quality film schedule.

The Cicle Gaudí ensures that Catalan and auteur productions have a constant diffusion space outside the major urban circuits.

These local initiatives are complemented by a very active general film slate, which during January 2026 has seen major releases, ranging from existential cinema and horror to major television sagas and anticipated titles such as Avatar: Foc i cendra, which topped the premieres during the week of December 19, 2025.
