The Blanes Town Council has concluded its dog-friendly beach pilot program with a positive assessment after operating from November to February 28th.

During the four-month trial, officials conducted eight water and sand quality tests. All results met current regulatory standards, proving that the presence of pets did not negatively impact the beach's environmental health.
Despite some initial local protests, the trial ended without significant incidents. This lack of conflict has led the Municipality to study the possibility of bringing the service back for the 2026-2027 season.
The future of the dog beach now awaits a formal Mayoral decree and necessary permits from the Generalitat de Catalunya to ensure its legal continuity in the coming years.
