The Government has suspended the Rodalies and Regional train service across the entire rail network due to an unprecedented volume of incidents until the system's safety and operability are guaranteed.

The Minister of the Presidency, Albert Dalmau, announced the decision, which was forced by recent incidents, such as the landslide recorded on Friday between Maçanet and Blanes, and the adverse weather situation. The primary objective is to guarantee user safety and the right to mobility.

"The conditions are not being met to certify the safe mobility of citizens."

Dalmau acknowledged that these are “difficult days for the country” due to the prolonged effects of the storm and assured that safety “is and will be the primordial issue” in the executive's actions. He also apologized to users, warning that “users cannot be held hostage by this situation in any case.”
In addition to the suspension, the Government demands the service be free until the resumption is completely reliable and sustained over time. Paneque explained that the Secretariat of Mobility signed a resolution to halt the service because “guarantees of operability cannot be given across the entire network,” adding that 21 critical points are currently being analyzed.
