The Catalan Government and the Comuns party have agreed on the gradual transfer of five Rodalies commuter rail lines, starting with the R1 line later this year.

This political agreement follows the recent fatal accident in Gelida. Under the new deal, the Rodalies de Catalunya joint venture will begin managing the R1 line, with plans to incorporate the R3, R2 sud, R4 nord, and R16 lines in the future.
Simultaneously, Civil Protection has activated the Ventcat alert due to dangerous wind conditions. Forecasts from the Meteorological Service of Catalonia suggest gusts could exceed 100 km/h in the Pyrenees and southern regions.
