High-speed train services between Barcelona and Figueres were interrupted from 8:00 PM this Monday due to a fire involving brush and grass that broke out near the tracks in Sils. The disruption affects the stretch between the Riells i Viabrea and Vilobí d'Onyar stations.
The Firefighters of the Generalitat worked to extinguish the flames with eight units. According to sources from the emergency services, two of the units had already returned to their station shortly before 9:00 PM, indicating a potentially favorable development of the fire.
As a consequence of the incident, Civil Protection activated the Ferrocat emergency plan in pre-alert phase, to coordinate potential disruptions to rail services and ensure passenger safety.
