The incident occurred last Thursday, September 3rd, around ten in the morning, on the GI-600 road, during a traffic control between Blanes and Tordera. Officers stopped a vehicle with Spanish license plates and detected a strong odor characteristic of the narcotic substance.
Upon searching the van, officers discovered numerous packages that initially appeared to be presents. However, upon opening them, it was confirmed they contained marijuana, meticulously packaged and protected with several layers of airtight bags to prevent detection.
The seized substance weighed a total of 21.41 kilograms.
As a result of the discovery, the driver of the vehicle, of foreign origin and a resident of Blanes, was arrested. He was subsequently handed over to judicial authorities to face charges.
