The municipality of Lloret de Mar has reached a record number of Green Zone permit activations, with 13,162 users registered from the beginning of the year until September. This figure already surpasses the total for 2025 and also the requests from 2024, the year the system was created.
Currently, Lloret de Mar has over 2,300 Green Zone parking spaces, designed to facilitate resident parking, promote vehicle turnover, and improve public space management. The Councillor for Mobility, Joan Escalona, notes that the permit system has become consolidated among citizens, demonstrating its utility for local residents.
Since September 7th, non-residents can park for free during the first hour in regulated zones by obtaining the corresponding parking ticket. After the initial 60 minutes, a rate of 0.049 euros per minute applies. This measure aims to encourage short-term parking and facilitate access to local shops and establishments.
The parking regulation is complemented by a focus on park-and-ride facilities. The Can Lloranes car park offers 160 spaces after improvement works, and together with the 200 spaces on Avinguda de les Alegries, provides approximately 360 park-and-ride spots. Additionally, 23 new charging points for electric vehicles are being prepared at municipal car parks, pending contract award.
The Mayor of Lloret, Adrià Lamelas, highlighted these measures during Mobility Week, emphasizing initiatives to facilitate travel and promote more rational use of public space. Plans are in place to progressively expand the Green Zone to other areas of the municipality.
In parallel, the Generalitat de Catalunya has put out to tender a study to analyze potential improvements in Lloret de Mar's road connectivity, assessing future needs and mobility alternatives.
