Singer Nina gave an intimate interview to journalist Jordi Basté this February, revealing for the first time her biological father's abandonment during her childhood in Lloret de Mar.

The artist explained that her biological father left while her mother was pregnant. Despite this, Nina praised her mother's resilience and her adoptive father, a fisherman from Lloret de Mar, whose surname she officially took at age 17.

"My biological father left when my mother was pregnant with me... he ran off and my mother was left with two daughters and one on the way."

She recalled her musical beginnings on the rocks of the Selva coast and being discovered in her hometown while performing with the Orquestra Costa Brava. This led her to Madrid for the show Un, dos, tres before leading the Operación Triunfo academy.
After a 42-year career, Nina expressed her desire for a quieter life, away from the strict vocal care routines, stating she does not wish to be performing into her 70s.
