The Maresme region ended February with 19,725 people unemployed, marking an increase of 113 individuals compared to the previous month of January.

This marks the third month in a row that unemployment has trended upwards in the area. According to the Local Development Observatory, the recent spike has predominantly affected women, with 345 more women joining the jobless ranks.
In contrast, the number of unemployed men only increased by 6. Despite the monthly rise, the yearly outlook remains positive, as total unemployment in Maresme has decreased by 2.78% over the last twelve months.
