Blanes Local Police have rescued a French woman who was allegedly kidnapped and assaulted by her ex-partner, a man who was arrested early Monday morning.

The police operation, which began early Monday, concluded with the arrest of a French national. He is accused of several crimes, including assault, domestic abuse, illegal detention, serious threats, coercion, and property damage.
The incident started on Sunday night when the municipal police received a report that a man was hitting a car with a woman inside at a gas station in the town center.
Upon the arrival of several patrols, the man fled on foot but was apprehended shortly after by officers. During the identification process, officers discovered that the woman had a Schengen warrant in France as a missing person.
